New York Banks compete for New Yorkers seeking jumbo mortgages
New York consumers interested in jumbo mortgages were recently being turned away by most large banks, but that trend has reversed this summer. Banks have been developing new products and offering attractive options for borrowers seeking jumbos, which are home loans too big to receive a guarantee from Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac or the Federal Housing Administration.
